COUPLES HAVE NEVER SEEN A CHRISTMAS TREE WITH A Lantern CHINESE? I yes, it's my!
In 1966 (I was 4 years old), during this time, my dad went to dinner with the customers at a Chinese restaurant (at that time there was only one), and I brought home the lantern above. We decided then to put it together to be part of the decorations for the Christmas tree.
You should know that when I was a child (I am an only child) had the habit of the tree on a Saturday afternoon at around 8 in December along with Dad, while Mum handed out Christmas decorations anywhere in your home, especially in my room.
This tradition lasted until Christmas 1989 I got married the following May. Even when my daughter was little, Dad was established on Saturday at our house and we did it together, even with the baby.
Now Dad is gone, and as you know, I miss him so much ...
For this reason yesterday, taking advantage of the fact that her husband and daughter were out, I decided to make the tree "with Daddy." I took his photo, I put on the table and began chatting with him like the good old days: I felt close to me, I felt that I listened, and finally approved of my work I show below.
The decorations on my tree are those when I was a child, and each has a story. Every year, Dad bought something, balls, lights or garland. That
below is my absolute favorite ball: the only survivor (which I keep as a relic) of a box of 4 bought when I was 5 or 6 years
The bird below it dates back to my childhood, then, a dozen years ago, my daughter wanted to give him a companion. Here they are both:
Here a few more balls in my favorite, all hand-painted:
The ball below is very special: it's all covered in white silk thread and shiny:
Once decoration, relatively recent, I love sticking the handle of the window:
Last picture: another little post that my daughter did in her room and decorated balls slightly "biased"
soon dear friends with other images: perhaps I put the balls coming from the tree of my husband, then they too vintage!
